Recipe for Success: Roast Chicken and Vegetables – Keep it Simple

This is a recipe that is a staple in my house. There have been many long travel weeks where I have been lucky enough to come home to this dish in the oven. Most people who know me well know that my husband, Mark, is the cook in our family, and we are very lucky to have his skills in the kitchen. Roasted chicken and vegetables is a simple, main dish that gets the job done.

The main dish is achieving your sales goals, and it is easy to get lost in the shuffle of many other ideas, technology, and competing priorities. At the end of the day, as sales counselors, our job is to bring revenue and sales to the community. Keep your recipe for success simple by knowing exactly how many sales you need this month, this quarter, and this year, and consider what your strategy is going to be to achieve.

While your marketing plan might have a few different strategies for success, the main dish should be the number of sales that you need to drive occupancy, and a plan to get there. With so much technology being introduced to sales and marketing teams lately, it is a good reminder to get back to the basics.

Who is your audience?

How are you going to get them to your community?

What product are you offering?

Is it correctly priced?

How often will someone buy when they meet with your sales team?

Understanding these basic questions will drive your occupancy strategy, but having someone to provide oversight and accountability is the key ingredient to success. Particularly if your community is going through some changes like an expansion or repositioning, having an expert “chef” in the kitchen to provide some oversight and ensure focus is being spent in the right places can help ensure that you reach your goals.
